However, if you don’t want to completely run your machine on Linux then you could use a live bootable flash drive of your Linux, and run it on your PC whenever it suits your need. In Today’s article, I will show how to run Linux OS (Ubuntu, Mint, Suse etc) from USB flash drive (Pen Drive) without the need of installing it.

Perquisites:
Before you proceed with below steps, make sure that you have all the required things to proceed.
- Linux OS ISO file or Linux Bootable CD
- USB Drive with Minimum of 2GB Space
- Download LinuxLive USB Creator (LiLi)
How to Run/Mount Linux Operating System from USB Flash Drive
Step 1: Connect your USB drive to your PC.
Step 2: Run LinuxLive USB Creator
Step 3: From “Choose Your Key”, select your USB Drive.
Step 4: From “Choose A Source” Select your Linux file. If you have ISO file then select “ISO / IMG / ZIP” If you have bootable CD then select “CD” else Select “Download” to download Linux file.
Step 5: From “Persistence” select the amount of memory you want to provide.
Step 6: From “Options” Check “Hide created files on key”
Step 7: Once again verify all your steps, click on Lightning icon to start the bootable USB drive creating process.
Once your bootable drive is created you can use it boot Linux on your PC, without having to install Linux separately on your PC.
