How to Encrypt Android Phone’s External SD Card

Note:  Decryption of encrypted card is only possible through the device used to perform encryption. If your device is damaged or lost, you may not be able to access data from your SD card.
Step 1: Tap on Settings on your Android Phone
Step 2: Tap on Security option.
Step 3: Next, tap on Encrypt external SD card
Step 4: Now you will be asked to set a 6 digit password as the lock screen.
Step 5: Once you have set the password. You will see SD card encryption is turned off.
Step 6: Tap on Turn on button (Bottom) to encrypt your external SD card.
Step 7: Next, tap Yes to Encrypt all files on your SD card?
Step 8:  Next, you will be asked if you want to exclude encryption of all the media files. If you have any private media file then tap on No to encrypt your Media files.
Step 9: Tap on Continue and enter the password when asked.
Step 10: Start the encryption process by tapping on Apply button.
Step 11: Wait until encryption process is over. Once done, you should see your SD card being shows as SD card encrypted.
By following the above steps you can protect your data from misuse by encrypting your SD card. Now if you want to decrypt your SD card then go to Settings > Security > Encryption and tap on Turn off to decrypt SD card on your Android phone.
